Hi James, I'm just finding - and enjoying - your newsletter, thank you. The Bhutan - India rail link looks interesting given what a challenge it is to get into Bhutan via the only air link to Thimphu, via Paro airport. Although Kokrajhar, wherever that is in Assam, isn't exactly top of mind as a place to start a journey. Or even somewhere I've heard of.

That's interesting though. Thanks for the information.

Two competing feelings tug at each other – it's never too late, and it's not like the old days. If you've never been someplace, you think better late than never (but maybe I better hurry). Once you've been, you scoff, ah, it was better in the old days. Probably neither is right, it's just a place, being how it is. Once a long time ago we talked with a random dinner partner in Jordan about whether the experience we were sharing would still be available in ten, twenty years. We thought something like 'it'll never be as authentic as it is now,' but I'll betcha if you were there right now, you'd be having an authentic experience of your own. Which is all the long way to say I hope you get to check it out, and soon.
